THE SHORT STORY
Golden Plains is a festival at The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, which is an hour and a half out of Melbourne, Australia. Golden Plains made her sparkling debut in March ‘07 and by popular demand will ride again at the end of this Summer. Golden Plains is an epic Long Weekend of camping, music and good times in the greatest of outdoors.
It is presented and staged by the team behind the long-running, cult-popular Meredith Music Festival. After seventeen years of running Meredith, that team knows how to provide a truly premium festival experience for every person there, and Golden Plains is indeed that: all the magnificence of Meredith plus the benefit of a smaller crowd and some glorious Autumn weather. It’s the best camping trip of your life with thirty of the world’s finest live music artists performing.
The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre is one of the most spectacular live performance arenas in the Free World. If you’ve ever wanted to find out for yourself what goes on Out There, now’s your chance.

GOLDEN PLAIN SAILING
The dates for the festival are March 8-10 2008. That’s the Labour Day Long Weekend. Arrive Saturday morning, set up camp wherever you like, relax-get excited-party-relax-get excited party-relax-get excited-party etc for two days and two nights, depart Monday after a sleep in and late checkout. Music is all made from the one stage, so you can set yourself up in one spot for the weekend and not miss a thing. Why not afford yourself some true quality time? Bring an armchair, banana lounge or couch if you wish. Every person can get as close or as far from the action as they may desire. The spacious campgrounds wrap around the Amphitheatre; some have a view of the stage. All are within a few minutes walk from proceedings, though if you choose to you can set up camp a little further afield in glorious seclusion and use the pathways to get to the action.
The venue changes with the time of day and night; as does the atmosphere…expect a full range of genuine emotions…it’s an Epic Long Weekend. Facilities and attractions include the Ecoplex Outdoor Cinema, The Pink Flamingo Bar, Sunset Strip, Tai Chi Masterclass, International Food Court, worlds-best-practice showers and toilets, Inspiration Point Rock Garden and a Sportsfield. It’s all purpose-designed-and-built for a Premium Festival Experience.
Golden Plains is a commercial-free event – there are no commercial sponsors, and no commercial signage onsite. We get many comments that people don’t realize how good it is to not see a commercial message for a whole Long Weekend until they actually experience it. It’s a rarity in the Modern World. It’s a haven.
