The Golden Plains ticketing system that was popular and efficient last year is back in action this year. Essentially it is the same as the Meredith ticketing system.
Tickets to The Second Annual Golden Plains Festival are, however, more limited than Meredith tickets. It is designed to be a Premium Festival Experience; all the magnificence of Meredith…but with a smaller crowd, on a Long Weekend, in the glorious Autumn weather.
Here’s how to get Tickets:
SUBSCRIBER BALLOT – ENTER NOW
A Subscriber Ballot will be held to ensure that most of the tickets are allocated to Golden Plains or Meredith Subscribers. Two rounds of offers will be made via email to successful applicants; one on November 9th, and one on November 14th.
It’s free and easy to enter, and you only have to enter once.
- If you are already a Golden Plains or Meredith Subscriber, click here to enter The Ballot.
- If you are not a Subscriber, click here to become one and enter the ballot.
To be in the running for the first round you must enter the Ballot before midnight Thursday 8 November. Any subscribers who were unsuccessful in the first round will be automatically entered into the second round ballot – and notified by November 16.
PUBLIC SALES
After The Ballot is done and dusted, an allocation of tickets will be available in select stores from Monday 19 November. Then a final allocation of tickets will be put online open to all comers at 10am on Wednesday 21 November, at www.goldenplains.com.au
There is a maximum of 4 tickets per person in each allocation.
PRICES
There is one type of ticket only. It gets you access to the festival from 8am Saturday 8 March through to 2pm Monday 10 March. Music is made from the stage from 4pm Saturday to 7am Monday. Monday is breakfast and a late check out. Free parking and camping is of course included.
Tickets are $169.90 pbf in the ballot, then $179.90 pbf in the later allocations.
MORE ABOUT THE BALLOT
The Subscriber Ticket Ballot is a simple and efficient system that was used for the last Golden Plains and for the 2007 Meredith Music Festival to get tickets into the hands of subscribers in an equitable and stress-free manner. The ballot is simple. It’s done online and via email.
- Ensure you are a Golden Plains or Meredith Subscriber before midnight on Thursday 8 November. In your subscription details ensure you have answered “YES” to the question “Do you wish to enter the Ballot for tickets to the next Golden Plains?“
- You will be notified via email by Aunty Meredith as to whether or not you have been successful in the ballot. Two rounds of offers will be made – on Nov 9th and Nov 14th.
- If successful, you will be emailed a unique alpha-numeric code (a “Golden Code”) which you can use to log in to our secure Online Box Office within a 5 day period, purchase up to 4 tickets, and have them sent to you.
If you don’t have a credit card, that’s ok - we offer PayPal.
If you are unfortunate enough to miss out in the ballot, there are still two more allocations of tickets to go on sale after the ballot.
The Ballot Application Process
Please note that the speed of your internet connection doesn’t matter – dialup or broadband are both fine. When applications close, all the applications go into a ballot pool, and successful applicants are selected from the pool of subscribers until the allocation is exhausted.
The successful applicants are then emailed a unique alpha-numeric code (called a “Golden Code”) which acts like a password. They then have 5 days to go online to our secure site, log in using the Golden Code and make the purchase. No rush, no fuss. No stress. No competing with the rest of Australia for tickets. Each Golden Code can only be used once.
You don’t even need a credit card to do this – we also offer PayPal. But you must set up a PayPal account in advance – it takes about 5 days. All you need is a bank account in your name, and of course enough money in it for the tickets when the time comes to pay.
Many long-running festivals internationally now use this system, it is popular is because it is quick and easy, and in this case you would only be competing for tickets with other Subscribers.
Subscribers who enter the ballot will know whether or not they have been successful in getting tickets in the Ballot before the later allocations go on sale.
TICKET DETAILS
Lost, stolen or damaged tickets will not be replaced. We have no way of verifying that lost tickets are genuinely lost, so it's a blanket 'no' on that one. Sorry, but try to see it from our side. Heaps of people try it on. Guard your ticket with your life, treat it like cash, it can't be replaced.
You will need Photo ID to prove you are over 18 if you wish to enter a licensed area on site, or purchase alcohol from any of the bars. Even if you are 55 and look 70, if you haven't got ID, you won't be served.
